USAA is currently seeking a talented Contract Requirements Advisor for our San Antonio, TX location.
As a Contract Requirements Advisor for USAA, you will be responsible for extracting and reviewing IT acquisition requirements to determine and coordinate alternative internal solutions. You will consult with members to validate, consolidate and refine information technology requirements for USAA's software, hardware and IT service requests for proposals and contracts. You will understand member business and technical needs and provide due diligence consulting as well as translation to procurement and legal. You will represent IT business requirements on specialized contracting teams during negotiations and may lead negotiations when appropriate. You will identify opportunities for expense and risk reduction as well as provide to procurement. You will understand IT vendor strategies, pricing models and USAA's requirements in order to develop requirements and strategies that ensure better deals and risk mitigation. You will manage activities with IT vendors assigned to improve leverage, reduce risk and improve service. You will monitor and initiate action based on IT Acquisition and Renewal Calendar entries as well as determine when major vendor contract reviews are prudent. You will need strong project management and negotiation skills as well as solid information technology, technical business skills and contract language interpretation.
Qualified candidates need to possess:
Bachelor's degree.
5-7 years of work experience with acquisitions and technical and/or requirements writing.
Experience gathering necessary information to develop statements of work and supplier performance measurements for business and IT projects.
Strong communication and presentation skills to brief management on acquisition activity.
Experience in clearly and concisely documenting risks, issues and plans for working level and executive management.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects, with the flexibility to re-prioritize those assignments as necessary and perform whatever tasks are necessary to accomplish the objectives.
Preferred experience includes:
IT or business related degree.
PMP certification.
Experience working in a consultative environment.
Project management skills.
