Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Contract Negotiator will provide leadership on contract consulting, negotiation, and structuring services to assigned business units relative to policies, programs and regulatory requirements on contract negotiations, including contract features, flexibility, business controls and protecting Company’s intellectual property rights with the objective of concluding business agreements at the best price and business terms. In this role you will assume primary responsibility for working with the relevant business entities and client senior management in explaining, preparing and drafting business, marketing and special program agreements in the specialty area assigned. Each contract specialist will be assigned and responsible for supporting either a business unit or a specialty area such as mainframe computing, financial systems, marketing applications, etc. Contract specialist may also have a combination of support services for a business unit and several special products or professional services responsibilities.

Currently this function is provided by hundreds of Office Depot managers and their staff throughout the company. This position will aggregate this function under this organization and facilitate the processing of contracts optimizing consolidation to maximize price, productivity, business terms and reduce overall costs to Office Depot.

Job Requirements
Education/Experience:


Bachelor's Degree in Business disciplines.

Minimum of five (5) years related experience or training. MBA a plus.

Superb decision making, negotiation and leadership skills.

Proven ability to prioritize, organize and successfully accomplish multiple high profile tasks.

Individual must have excellent communication and writing skills, be highly organized and able to work in a high paced environment.

Must have experience in negotiating and managing large multi-million strategic global contracts.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work well with diverse vendors and people, work well independently and on a team.
