Consultative Sales/Regional Account Executive
We currently seek a consultative sales professional with
experience selling in the educational market particularly as it relates to
distance learning.Regional Account Executives will be responsible
for consultative sales of Peterson’s products and services to Distance
Learning (degree completion /continuing education) with the goal of
developing a strong pipeline to meet or exceed quota. Staff must develop
a solid understanding of the needs specific to Distance Learning and post
secondary education market segments, workflow and requirements associated
with current solutions, as well as solutions offered by our new owners,
current expenditures and objectives for improvement. Responsibilities
include managing and developing an assigned regional territory to build
relationships, create new sales opportunities, close sales calls. Account
Executive must understand and be committed to implementing and selling a
pay-per-lead model. The Account Executive must be able to sell
strategically and develop long lifecycle relationships with accounts.
Approximately 90% of time is selling by telephone and e-mail.
Approximately 10% is selling outside at conventions, conferences and on
campuses.
REQUIREMENTS
2-5 years successful selling experience, preferably into
distance learning/continuing education and degree completion markets.
Strong sales track record of consistently exceeding objectives with an
annual target revenue of at least $1,500,000
Strong new business development track record with demonstrated ability
to develop new account prospects and clients through networking,
referrals, cold calling and account development over the phone and through
meetings
Consistent 100% or above annual quota performance
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
Experience working in or knowledge of distance learning preferred.
Ability to gather, keep up-to-date and apply competitive information in
the consultative sales process
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel,
Outlook), as well as general knowledge and skill in the use of personal
computers
Excellent oral and written communication skills combined with solid
presentation skills, along with excellent listening skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate complex and technical
concepts clearly
Self-motivated, independent, and persistent
Employment of ethical business practices required
A strong understanding of distance learning and higher education
markets, funding sources and budgets.
Ability to quickly ascertain customer needs and close sales rapidly.
Candidates must work full-time from our Lawrenceville, New Jersey
facility. The company is not funding relocation or sponsorship for this
position.
