Consultant-Sales Ops-Retail

This Retail Sales Ops Consultant (ROC) position will have a territory that covers Green Bay, Appleton, and Madison, WI. The IL/WI Retail Sales Ops Consultant's main responsibility is ensuring the operational success of all retail store locations to which a Consultant has been assigned. For this specific position, the Consultant will have accountability for 12-13 locations. Ensuring store success is achieved through performing two-four operational visits per store per quarter. One of these visits is a full day (7-10 hours) regional check performed quarterly for each of a Consultant's store locations. This visit is a comprehensive check of all operational functions to verify that all corporate policies are being followed. The check includes a review of the following store functions: cash controls, inventory, invoicing, security, documentation management, sales tools, store scheduling, facilities, and cleanliness. The Consultant must be well versed in the methods and procedures of all store operational policies and must be able to teach and coach to these skills. Full summary and corrective action plan details are required after each visit. Follow-up visits confirm that store personnel have implemented all action plan items. In addition, a ROC will perform a full "mock" for each of their locations as required. A ROC's follow-up visits will be to stores with significant operational/audit challenges. Other duties performed by the Consultant include: training new Store Managers on the operational skills needed to run a retail location; participating in weekly calls held by District Managers; reviewing and answering all operational questions of their Store Managers; providing back-up training as needed; coordinating and participating in the monthly Retail Operations Workshop; providing recaps of their stores' monthly performance on all sales tools; educating managers on new and revised policies and programs; coordinating and communicating individual analysis projects to the Retail Director and District Managers; creating new and improved sales tools to help stores achieve sales KPI's; and communicating daily with Store Managers by answering all of their e-mail and voicemail questions and concerns. Also, a ROC must be able to perform all sales duties related to helping with customer traffic when visiting busy stores. The position entails significant travel, as 85% of a Consultant's time is spent in the field. Operational and "mock" audit reports are generally typed up after the completion of a store visit and outside the confines of a store. This generally means night and weekend hours will be required to complete assignments.
Job Requirements
A minimum 2-3 years of retail operations experience with proven performance in the retail store environment. The preferred candidate must have a proficient working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and able to successfully multi-task. The preferred candidate will also be able to shift direction at a moment's notice, while still completing all daily responsibilities.
