Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to provide support for product initiatives from an operational perspective across departments and profit centers. The primary focus of the job entails coordinating effective communications aimed at the identification and resolution of issues.

The core focus of the Product Initiatives Consultant is to provide implementation support to the servicing departments within IDP in a manner that allows for seamless implementation of new products. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Attend product development meetings;
Serve as subject matter expert for training and user acceptance testing;
Assessing system impact of new product initiatives;
Work with external departments to ensure policy print capabilities are ready;
Assist in evaluating expert underwriting system impacts;
Coordinate with Marketing department that product marketing dates coincide with system readiness dates;
Provide regular product initiative updates to key operations staff;
Assist in identifying impacts on underwriting requirements of new product initiatives;
Communicating operations management decisions to other departmental staff working on product initiatives (ex. Information Technology);
Assist in authoring effective product field communications;
Develop business logic for automated form completion;
Work closely with eInitiatives department to coordinate product changes with esubmission agencies and vendors.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years industry experience (High school diploma plus 10 years related experience can be substituted for bachelor’s degree). FLMI (or steady progress toward) and any related professional licenses or certificate.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Solid applied knowledge and understanding of insurance business principles, products, strategy, systems, technology, processes, and operations. Able to align department goals and activities with division and company goals. Demonstrated leadership skills. Demonstrated record of initiative, adaptability and real-time problem solving and decision skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously involving various department/division and levels of employees. Sound organization, planning and project management skills. Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, presentation skills, business writing skills, and PC skills. Ability to apply technology to business problems.
