Category Analyst

Job Summary:Responsible for detailed analyses on category spend data to identify trends, anomalies and cost saving opportunities. In addition, this position will be responsible for data gathering and market analysis related to sourcing initiatives, supplier performance, and contract management for assigned category areas. Responsible for supporting the Category Manager’s savings metrics tracking and reporting efforts and for supporting the development of sourcing strategies, execution and implementation of sourcing solutions. Responsible for interfacing with internal clients, suppliers, and key support functions to assist transactional activities, issue resolution and query handling. EOE(m/f/d/v)Job Responsibilities:Conduct annual and periodic spend analyses on categories and provide detailed reporting on supplier spend
Gather and analyze additional Purchasing data, including leading practices, benchmark information, supplier performance data, etc. to support the development of detailed category profiles
Support the Category Managers by participating in cross functional teams, contract negotiations, supplier evaluations, implementations, contract review activities, and Purchasing-related change management efforts
Support the identification and implementation of improvement opportunities (e.g. requirements standardization, supplier consolidation, and changes in purchasing processes) and best practices
Develop tools and templates to support efficient, timely and accurate analysis, tracking and reporting
Interface with end users to answer queries
REQUIREMENTS
Job Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Business (or other related degree programs)
Minimum of 2 years experience (Finance, business consulting, or other analytical-based experience preferred)
Highly self-motivated and the ability to perform with minimum supervision, as well as within a team
Strong project management skills and results oriented
Excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of eProcurement and eSourcing systems is a plus
First hand working knowledge of Strategic Sourcing Methodology is a plus.
Specific content knowledge with categories in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus

Proficient analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
