The position is located in Bridgewater, NJ

The Corporate Relations department is responsible for Allstate communications internally (employees and agents) and externally with key publics (news media, customers, consumers, opinion leaders, government and community groups) in key states. The department manages a strategic communication plan for the company aligned with regional business objectives and the national Corporate Positioning Strategy.

The scope of this job: The external communication consultant will oversee media relations, public relations and reputation management for Allstate. The ideal candidate will develop, implement and monitor a comprehensive regional media relations strategy , be proactive, anticipatory and reactive to position the corporation with diverse regional stakeholders. This individual will serve as a company spokesperson for Allstate in New Jersey.

The individual will be responsible for:

1. Create, implement and measure an external communication plan to align with regional and corporate business objectives and ensure Integration of messaging of Media Relations, Government Relations, Industry Relations, Community Relations and the Allstate Foundation
2. Enhance the Allstate image, build relationships and produce a business climate allowing Allstate to operate in a more favorable external environment

REQUIREMENTS
The skills required are:

1. Intermediate - Have the ability to learn the fundamentals of the insurance
2. Intermediate - Think strategically to translate business objectives into integrated communication strategies and tactics
3. Intermediate - Drive corporate reputation and business performance
4. Intermediate - Posess excellent oral and written communication skills to deliver Effective presentation skills to deliver effective presentations and written materials
5. Intermediate - Strong analytical and project managment skills and assist in making recommendation

Experience Required:
A professional portfolio and 5-plus years of relevant experience are required.

Computer Proficiency:
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Education:
College Degree - Preferred
Major preference: A bachelor's degree required, with an emphasis in Journalism, Public Relations or Communications
