Employee Type: Full Time Regular (R) Job Description: McLagan Partners has an exciting career opportunity in New York, NY for a Benchmark Consultant for US Investment Banking within the GAUGE TM benchmarking team. The team is responsible for compiling the only desk level cost benchmark for the Investment Banking Industry.The data used in the Gauge Benchmark comes directly from our clients’ general ledgers. Accounts, cost centers, and locations are mapped into a normalized structure to give apples to apples comparisons. Once each firm has signed off
the normalization process, benchmarks exist, and McLagan provides averages, spreads and ranks. Detailed reports are produced for Investment Banking, Fixed Income, Equities, IT, Finance and Operations additionally an Executive Summary and a low-level interrogation tool is also provided to each client.ResponsibilitiesThe Benchmark consultant’s main areas of responsibility will be:

Responsible for the IT and Finance segments of the GAUGE Investment Banking Benchmark in the USA

Responsible for the normalization and analysis of the Finance and IT Benchmark data.

To Analyze Benchmark results and work with senior client contacts to present results and draw conclusionsThe candidate will be exposed to all the key market players and develop a unique level of understanding of the cost base / headcount and functions of the world’s major Investment Banks. He or she will deal with our client’s at various levels of seniority. There is a great deal of scope to expand into additional product areas and sectors.Experience/Skills
Ideally would have worked in an IT finance related role in a major investment Bank.

Good understanding of the annual budget and comp process and allocation of costs within a large blue chip organization.

Excellent knowledge of the functions/role of all the IT functions in major global bank.

Above average Microsoft Office skillsPersonal Skills
