Assistant General Counsel – Corporate, CPS
Reports to Deputy General Counsel
Location: Richmond, VA
Responsibilities
Provide primary, hands-on support for the company's Consumer Packaging Solutions group. Additionally, provide support on transactional (M&A, joint ventures and similar), primarily for the Consumer Packaging Solutions group. Provide support generally in ongoing legal matters for the company and its businesses. Position reports to the Deputy General Counsel and involves working closely with other senior lawyers and business managers.
Qualifications: Minimum 5 to 7 years' experience in corporate law, with primary focus on business counseling; negotiating and preparing commercial agreements, including distributorships, supply agreements, sales and marketing agreements, manufacturing agreements, joint development agreements and similar commercial arrangements; assist on transactions, including acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures and other business combinations.
The successful candidate must have an in-depth understanding of concerns and issues facing business managers and be solutions oriented. Law firm or blend of in house and law firm experience preferred. Strong academic background required.
