At BearingPoint, an IT Architect works directly with the customer to help translate the client's business requirements into specific system, application, or process designs. This includes working as a team member with client personnel to identify functional requirements and subsequently working with or leading others in the identification, justification, and design of the client's solution. The IT Architect also participates in a wide range of design activities from requirements analysis through systems, application, or process design specification. The position requires knowledge across multiple platforms, processes, methodologies or architectures.Technical Skills
10+ years experience with methodological driven Application Development in Main Frame, Client Server, Web enablement areas. Use of Java J2EE and .NET preferred.
Must have at least 5+ years of experience producing architectures, must have experience architecting IT solutions which involved the application and integration of a broad variety of products, technologies and services, encompassed both functional (application) and infrastructure components, etc.
5+ years experience performing component based modeling using UML.
2+ years experience working with Web Services and Service Oriented Architectures - technologies such as XML, SOAP, UDDI, WSDL and WS-BPEL.
Working knowledge and design of at least one of the following – DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, preferably using Business Intelligence and ETL tools and frameworks.General Skills
Big 5 Insurance or consulting experience a plus; but not required.
Experience with creating SOWs, RFPs, RFIs, etc.
Advise other professionals on the tools (Rational Rose & UML), technology (J2EE & .NET), and methodology (RUP, Extreme Programming, SummitD, Method One, etc) related to the design and development of IT solutions and participate in evaluation and selection.
Must have strong leadership qualities and work directly with customers and ensure customer satisfaction.Candidates must have the ability to accommodate a Monday-Friday travel schedule.
