We are looking for Leasing Consultants

Leasing Consultants are the face of AIMCO. When visiting an apartment community for the first time, very often the first person you meet will be a Leasing Consultant. We recognize that first impressions make all the difference, and the ideal candidate understands the importance of a smile and friendly handshake. Providing excellent customer service to current and prospective residents is essential. The Leasing Consultant is responsible for all aspects of leasing an apartment home as defined by AIMCO policies and procedures. Responsibilities include locating and qualifying potential residents, assisting current residents, and lease renewals.

Make no mistake about it, a Leasing Consultant position is a sales position. A great Leasing Consultant knows how to determine the needs of a potential resident, address those needs with the right apartment home, and close the sale. Confidence and a little creativity go a long way, both in attracting new residents and interacting with them once they are there. The ability to schedule appointments and follow-up on inquiries plays a vital role in the success of an AIMCO Leasing Consultant.

A Leasing Consultant is also a Customer Service position. The ideal candidate must be able to address the concerns of current residents in a friendly and professional manner. A successful Leasing Consultant must have strong organizational abilities, follow-up skills, and an attention to the little details that often make all the difference with current and prospective residents.
REQUIREMENTS
Are you the right person for the Job?

The ideal Leasing Consultant may not necessarily have previous apartment leasing experience. However, the right candidate should have a strong sales and customer service background.

Here are a few things to consider –

A Leasing Consultant must be able to handle a high volume of telephone calls from current and prospective residents.
The ideal candidate must adapt to changing schedules that most likely will include weekends, evenings and some holidays. Multi-tasking and adaptation are key elements to success! Every day is different for a Leasing Consultant. In order to succeed, the ideal candidate must be able to handle constant change in a fast-paced environment and be able to deal with all different types of people and situations.
Candidate should have, or will be required to obtain within 120 days of employment, an Illinois Real Estate Leasing License. On-the-job training provided.
We are a script-oriented company. A Leasing Consultant must be able to work from scripts, both in person and over the telephone. This ensures a consistent company message and image.
A professional image and courteous attitude is essential. Must be poised for success!
This position requires physical mobility. A Leasing Consultant shows apartments outside and around the apartment community.
