Advice Consultant

Position Summary:
The Advice Consultant exists to partner with the field to increase proprietary ABCs while helping our members plan for financial security and independence. The position achieves this by aligning with our key stakeholders to advance strategic initiatives of advice, retirement and product solutions. Success will best be achieved by building strong relationships with FRs, providing fundamental proprietary product knowledge on positioning products and concepts within the advisory process, case consultation skills, and effective use of phone and technology.This position is responsible for understanding a broad array of applications for products and maintains a strong fundamental proprietary knowledge across the entire product portfolio. In addition, the position has a fundamental understanding of the Thrivent advisory process and tools.Position Roles/Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Play a key role in raising product proficiency skills and technical expertise of FRs across the entire Thrivent product portfolio.
Educate and influence the understanding, knowledge and adoption of how products fit within the Thrivent advisory process.
Support FRs in selecting appropriate advice tools and assists with coaching on data gathering, analysis interpretation and selection of product solutions.
Ability to provide differentiated levels of support to multiple levels of field expertise.
Accountable for providing case consultation on inbound calls from FRs.
Accountable for proactive phone rotations as determined by manager.
Accountable for understanding and using OAT and other tools to identify potential advice prospects and clients.
Some travel may be required, including occasional weekend commitments.Position Qualifications:
The Advice Consultant understands a broad array of applications for products within the Thrivent advisory process.
Will be able to demonstrate strong fundamental proprietary product knowledge across the entire product portfolio (including life insurance, DI, LTC, Med Supp, Mutual Funds, annuities, WRAP).
Has a fundamental understanding of the Thrivent advisory process, tools, and product solutions.
Bachelors degree preferred
Minimum 2-5 years of financial services experience preferred.
Minimum 2-5 years wholesaling experience and/or field experience preferred
Series 7, 63/65 or 66 required; state insurance license preferred
Advanced financial services designations preferred.
Proficient in computer/software applicationsCompetencies:
Proficient in understanding a broad array of applications for and utilization of Thrivent products within the framework of the Thrivent advisory process
Strong proprietary product knowledge and an ability to identify cross-selling opportunities.
Comprehensive understanding of the Thrivent Financial Advisory Process and advice tools.
Excellent phone communication skills and proficiency in public speaking/presentations.
Historical sales success preferred
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to establish rapport and credibility quickly
Ability to work independently with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
Ability to transfer knowledge in a manner that motivates FRs to take action
Ability to gather information and develop/disseminate effective practices from the field to the corporate office.

Internal -- Will work closely with team and team manager in setting direction and delivering on tactical activities.
Internal - Will work closely as a part of a regional team within Advice Consulting Team and ability to align with corporate stakeholders.
External - Will maintain close working relationship with financial representatives.
