Academic Advisors

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago seeks full-time academic advisors for its Academic Advising Center. Applicants must have a master's degree in higher education student personnel or related field or have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years experience in academic advising or related experience. Applicants should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, an empathetic nature and hold standards of high expectations for students of greatly diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities include preparation and interpreting academic audits, determining degree eligibility, advising undergraduates, participating in orientation programs, and teaching freshman success seminars. Experience with student databases and degree audit systems is desirable. Salary low 30's.
