ARCHITECT / PROJECT MANAGER

Peter Talbot AIA Architects is a general practice of architecture in Washington, Connecticut, founded in November 1989. After living and working in New York City for over 16 years, Mr. Talbot moved back to his childhood home and since then has developed a small, efficient and creative team working on residential, institutional and commercial projects, as well as feasibility studies and master plans with projects ranging from the Caribbean to Massachusetts. He has been published and received awards for work in the South Street Seaport in New York and housing in Nashville, Tennessee among other projects. Our goal is to provide the client with a personalized and efficient approach, where strong overall design, special attention to detail and the needs and requirements including budgets and scheduling constraints, of a specific client, are of utmost importance. We pay special attention to the use of sustainable materials and practices wherever possible and/or practical. We believe that architecture should be in concert with the environment, creating a meaningful dialogue between form and function, tradition and innovation, place within the community, proportion, detail and materials.
We are seeking an artistic, energetic, licensed Architect and a Sr. Draftsperson to join our team, to work with Peter and our Clients throughout the entire architectural process; including “mapping” out the client’s needs, budget, geographical and aesthetic programs with a planning or feasibility study, taking the project through Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, state / city landmark and code requirements and finally through construction. Our clients are encouraged to participate in the process and we work diligently to keep that dialogue throughout.
Architect-Project Architect /Manager - Prefer CT License, a minimum of 5 years experience in an architectural firm with field experience to manage all aspects of a project from the initial Client introduction, feasibility and conceptual design to construction thru the punch list. Should be able to communicate clearly with clients, appreciate and understand good design, take direction and be a team player. Attention to details and AutoCAD proficiency are essential, our office is currently using Autodesk 2005. Knowledge of ADA requirements, Codes, Sustainable / Green Building – LEED requirements and prior building experience are all a plus.
