Job Description:
A Welder must be able to perform satisfactory welds in all positions using electric, gas, or any combination of arc welding processes. A Welder must be able to perform related tasks, such as burning, grinding, and chipping. AWS or State Certified Welders preferred but not required.

McLean Contracting was founded in 1903 and has operated as a heavy construction company ever since. McLean’s home office is in Glen Burnie, MD and has a branch office in Chesapeake, Virginia. The Company also maintains shops and equipment yards in Baltimore, Maryland and Chesapeake, Virginia. The Company specializes in heavy waterfront construction such as bridges, piers, bulkheads and breakwaters. We also perform dredging, marine salvage, structural/mechanical and steel erection, highway bridges, heavy rigging, and industrial plant construction. The vast majority of our work is performed in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Washington D.C., and North Carolina.

REQUIREMENTS
Physical Effort:
Physically a Welder must have the use of both hands, must have good vision, good hearing, must be able to lift one hundred pounds (100#), must be able to bend and change positions frequently throughout the day. A Welder must be able to climb, and work in confined areas which would require kneeling, stooping, crouching, or crawling, and quite often a Welder will be working by him/herself. A Welder must be physically able to wear respiratory protection.
