Shft: DaysJob Description:Lead and coordinate the development and implementation of facility projects and new developments by managing the planning, evaluation, design, implementation and construction of all Alegent projects. Manage system development and construction resources across the organization, ensuring alignment with system strategies. Assure effective project management, including project control, monitoring contract performance. Works closely with campus administration and the finance to ensure schedules, budgets, scope, and quality project goals are achieved. Leads the identification, selection and management of external contractors, including contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, etc. Ensure development and construction projects support Alegent¿s vision, strategies, initiatives and priorities by ensuring the needs of staff and physicians are met, operational efficiency is enhanced, financial results are achieved, healing environments are created and healthcare services are accessible and pleasing to patients, visitors and community. Establish and assure compliance with system policies, processes, procedures across Alegent Health for site evaluation, feasibility, master site planning, project planning and design, architect/contractor selection, contracting, negotiating, budgeting, financial controls and project evaluation. Implements national and system best practices.Experience: Significant, specific and progressive management experience in multiple, complex, healthcare construction projects in excess of $250 million, including experience in aligning resources across a national system to achieve company goals and strategies.
At least ten years combined experience in facilities planning, construction management, project management, and capital budgeting. Strong understanding of the economics of construction and the business of engineering and construction.Has a history of managing to project time frames and budgets and has demonstrated strategic and creative thinking regarding construction expense management.Education/Licensure: A Bachelors degree, or equivalent related experience, in business, construction, engineering or other related field, with a Masters level preferred.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Demonstrated proficiency in formal and informal written and verbal communications, with public speaking experience preferred. High interpersonal communications skill in motivating team performance and resolving complex issues. Must be able to work independently and work in a highly effective manner with a diverse group of colleagues, internal and external contractors, vendors and constituents.Conversant with codes and ordinances relevant to facilities planning, design, construction and maintenance. Cognizant of patient flow and capable of large scale project implementation while maintaining functionality at the hospital/patient care level. Possess a broad understanding of how healthcare systems are organized and structured, and the intricacies of shared space and complex lease agreements.Awareness of current and future health care technology and its impact on patient care delivery.
Takes patient flow and interdependence of departments into consideration when working with space design. Weaves patient safety and quality goals into facility projects. Doesn¿t just translate old departments and processes into new spaces, challenges others into broader, innovative thinking.Capable of bridging multiple constituencies with variation in agenda, reaching decisions that meet immediate needs, while taking into consideration future strategic plans. Fosters and maintains rapport with executive leadership, peers, employees, medical and other professional staff, as well as external constituents.
