Drives the pre-sales estimation process for field proposals and may estimate less complex Planned Service Agreements and Service Retrofits, as directed by the Area Service Manager, provides technical sales assistance for service opportunities.



PRINCIPAL DUTIES:Support and promote the field proposal process for the Area. Uses available tools to assemble estimates for service, including service estimate tool to capture materials, labor, expense and subcontractor costs as necessary. Manages the estimate data through the entire proposal process. This includes opportunity follow-up and lost sales analysis. Measured on volume estimated, number of quotes, closure percentage and executed margin. Reviews estimate with service personnel and appropriate operations team to get mutual agreement on estimate. Develops consensus/buy-in from account team representative before presentation to customer. Secures pricing and availability from outside vendors and suppliers, mechanical and electrical subcontractors including scope, terms and conditions, and customer benefits. Assists in work scope issues or interpretation discrepancies, providing solutions to resolve. Develops scope and estimate for service personnel. Works with service personnel to develop understanding of customer requirements, critical areas and needs. Develops common orientation of job scope and details. Assists service personnel identify unique job considerations for service work. Identifies value-added options for proposed solutions. Uses equipment checklists to assist service personnel to appropriately assess risk. Provides feedback to support group to update estimating database with current estimates for labor, materials, expenses, tools and subcontract costs. Supports the use of the estimating process and use of standard tools and software for all repair estimates. Interfaces with SSA Service Operations to assist in establishing and updating estimating libraries with current estimates. Networks within Area, with other peer estimators and other support groups to estimate non-standard proposals when outside of functional area of expertise. REQUIREMENTS
Assoc. Degree in Electronic Technology or a related field with 2-3 years of experience installing and servicing building systems or a journeyman level certification. Demonstrated use of computers and analytical skills. Building systems knowledge and control experience required, estimating experience preferred.
