Under general direction, establishes Johnson Controls presence in the Service business in the geographic market covered by the Branch. Drives share growth across all segments of the market while meeting profitability targets and sustaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

External Relationships

The Branch Manager scans local market conditions, identifies current

and prospective market segments, and organizes resources to secure and deliver business in order to meet market share, revenue and profitability goals. Successfully executing this market leadership role involves developing and sustaining relationships by being actively involved in the local community and industry organizations, charity organizations, and face-to-face networking with Building Owners, Mechanical contractors, Real Estate Leaders, Business Professional Leaders, Local and Regional Governmental Leaders.

Internal Relationships

The Branch Manager role requires collaboration and active teaming with Service Americas organizations in order to serve the customer and maximize results for the

Service Business. The Branch Manager must communicate the Branch's competitive situation and business needs to these internal positions, as well as understand and adapt practices that make sense for the Branch and move the Service Business forward. These important two-way internal relationships include:

Service Branch Manager and staff to create superior customer service, provide

smooth customer coordination and handoffs, and maximize revenues

Regional Solutions Sales Manager and Regional Service Sales Manager and staff to

maximize revenues

Regional Service Operations Manager and Regional Solutions Operations Manager

and staff to create superior customer service, provide smooth customer coordination

and handoffs, and maximize revenues

Regional management staff (Quality, Financial, HR, Administration, etc.) to take

advantage of economies of scale (minimize costs) and share best practices across

Branches

Other Branch Managers to share successful approaches, coordinate customers and

relationships across Systems and Services to maximize JCI results

Service Americas management and staff to execute JCI strategy, take advantage of

economies of scale, and share successful practices across the organization

BUSINESS METRICS:

The Branch Manager is a general business manager with profit and loss responsibility. The following metrics define this responsibility:

Branch profitability and forecast accuracy

Gross Margin Improvement

Share of key market segments

Branch cash flow
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing. Master's degree preferred. Five to eight years of progressive sales and/or operational experience in building systems and services. Three years of experience in a lead or supervisory role with responsibility for the productivity or development of others. Ability to relate to people at all levels, and to communicate both on a technical and non-technical basis.
