Senior Civil Engineer
Senior Civil Engineer responsible for preparing design plans and specifications for civil/water resources related infrastructure projects for various clients, but with heavy emphasis on municipal government agencies. Responsible for marketing and proposal preparation for local municipal governments associated with civil/water resources related infrastructure projects
Responsibilities:
Participate in AMEC’s marketing efforts directed toward local/state governments associated with civil/water resources engineering services in the Metropolitan DC area. Potential opportunities to assist in marketing efforts throughout the company, including the Federal Government Program (including the Air Force, Army, Navy, and FEMA).
Function as Senior Project and/or Task Manager for civil design projects.
Develop business through developing client relationships.
Successfully manage task-order based term contracts (scope, scheduling, budget, profit, cash flow, client satisfaction, repeat work, etc.).
Develop / hire / manage support staff of technicians, designers and design engineers for civil/water design projects.
Function as lead civil engineer for local (municipal), state, and federal civil/water resources projects assigned to the Chantilly, Virginia office.
REQUIREMENTS
10+ years civil/water resources engineering experience, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, preparation of construction plans and specifications, and construction management, for public and private sector clients.
BS in Engineering / Science, MS preferred.
Licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia, or ability to secure within 6 months of employment, required.
Experience with water resources engineering computer software including hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, Auto Cadd, and GIS.
Experience as Project / Task manager on civil/water resources projects for local, state, and federal agencies.
Experience in client maintenance and new client development.
Supervisory experience.
Excellent written and oral communications.
