Sample Shop Mechanic (Fabricator)

The main objective of a Sample Shop Mechanic is to fabricate heat exchanger samples and components, per customer demands.
Work from and interpret blueprints or sketches.
Figure angles, blank sizes, areas, etc.
Accurately lay out sheet metal templates
Lay out blanks and performs forming operations on hand brake, various rolling machines and box brakes
Make forming blocks, jigs, fixtures and forms intricate samples which may be eventually formed in production using various rolling machines, brakes, presses, handforming blocks and other tools.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have general knowledge of metals and knows some limitations of tools and dies. The ideal candidate must be:
Able to join metals using heliarc, arc or gas welding
Able to braze using alloys such as aluminum easy flow, silfos, phos-copper, bronze, ets.
Able to solder quality leak-proof joints, join metals, body fill, etc.


Hand tools common to the Sample Mechanic trade must be furnished by employee.

Candidate will be required to show that they meet the general position qualifications through a formal testing/evaluation process.
