Road and Bridge Director

This position will oversee a staff of approximately 150 employees with an annual budget of 17 million dollars. The responsibilities are for the overall management and operations of the Road and Bridge Division to include but not limited to: the planning, scheduling, and directing of public works projects concerned with the construction/maintenance of county roads and bridges, and stormwater/drainage systems; will administer budget development functions for division operations and contract services; supervision of division staff including training, assigning/reviewing work, counseling, professional development, and disciplining.
REQUIREMENTS
ROAD AND BRIDGE DIRECTOR (2317A) Pay Range: $71,050 - $98,923/ annually. DOQ. Closes: Open Until Filled. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration or related field, and five (5) years of experience in engineering and management of road, bridge and drainage construction and maintenance operations. A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. The preferred applicant should have extensive experience in a Public Works environment with the primary focus on management of a large and diverse field organization. The applicant must be a highly motivated individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships internally and externally.
