AMEC is an international project management and services company that designs, delivers and supports client assets for customers worldwide across the public and private sectors. We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Project Control Engineer in our Atlanta, GA, office.

The Project Control Engineer will be responsible for the following:

• Responsible for leading project planning process.
• Prepare and maintain detailed engineering and construction schedules.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining project cost control reports.
• Update resource allocations, progress and date changes to publish a weekly master schedule for all active projects in the operation.
• Monitor hours and costs to determine trends and prepares forecast at completion.
• Take leadership role in change management process.
• Evaluate scope changes, cost trends, additional work orders and other elements.
• Coordinate with project team in the preparation of engineering and capital cost estimates.
• Assist project management in the preparation of procurement methodology, bid packages and in bid evaluation.
• Interrelate with project personnel to establish the plan, develop project schedules and or capital cost estimates.
• Implement and administer field project controls including change order management, productivity and earned value studies, and project closeout.
• Participate in services such as Risk Assessment and Value Engineering.
• Make presentations to clients, as needed.
• Interact with suppliers and contractors and makes cost comparisons.
• Ensure the maintenance of all essential documentation.

REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have a BS/BA degree and 5+ years of demonstrated experience in the development of project schedules and cost control for medium to large size industrial design and construction projects. The successful candidate will be required to show aptitude across a broad range of services, both internally and externally.

Practical experience using Primavera Scheduling software (latest version) is required. Previous experience in engineering services or construction management is preferred, especially working on EPCM or design/build type contracts. The position requires taking a confident, pro-active approach to collection of project information. Good communication skills are required to support a high level of interaction with all levels of operations staff and external clients.
