Multi-skilled Craftsperson to serve our residential and commercial clientele in Bucks and Montgomery counties. Great opportunity to join a fast growing professional services company. Must be skilled at finish carpentry, cabinet installation, and drywall. Tile work, plumbing, electrical, painting or roofing a plus. Full, part time and flexible hours available, retirees and contractors welcome.
We have high expectations in the quality of work performed and the professionalism of our employees. In addition, we require solid communication and organizational skills, punctuality, ability to creatively and efficiently solve problems and an ability to plan and complete projects independently.
Reliable transportation and tools required. Flexible hours, hourly rate commensurate with experience, mileage allowance, cell phone, paid vacation and regular reviews.

On average, craftsmen operating their own businesses make less than $11.47 per hour and spend 67 hours per week working, supplying estimates, returning phone calls, marketing placement, taxes, managing customer conflicts and problems that force lots of driving and long uncompensated meetings. Also, you must deduct the gas, wear and tear on your vehicle, and lost revenues from people who don't pay to really understand what you are making. Most individuals doing all of this have little time for hobbies, friends and families.
Handyman Matters is an industry-leading repair & remodel company for residential and commercial properties. We staff an office that is highly trained in selling projects, scheduling, and dispatching with the craftsman in mind. We have been selling projects over the phone since 1997 and have a fully automated computer system that tells us the questions to ask, the projects you are qualified to perform, your schedule, and picks the projects closest to your home. All jobs are sent to you via a text message on your company provided phone. The only time you need to come to the office is to attend pre-scheduled meetings.
Since 95% of our jobs are sold over the phone and most generally are from our repeat list of customers you simply show up and give a final evaluation of the project scope and process, including a general time frame and materials needed and go to work right then. You are in control of the project from the start to the finish, and that is why we ask that you have at least 6 years of experience in multiple trades including; minor plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, drywall, tile, and miscellaneous repairs and maintenance. Additionally we never ask you to pull any money out of your pocket to do business with us. You are an employee of the company and are compensated for the use of your vehicle (Truck or Van preferred) and are issued a company credit card to purchase materials for your projects.
