PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

Fast paced, Kalamazoo based company is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent. Qualified candidates will have a minimum 5 years in Ground Up, Design Build Construction. Must be safety conscious and be Computer Literate in Word and Excel.

As a Project Superintendent you will direct the activities of staff and sub-contractors engaged in the demolition, rebuild, repair, and/or building of structures or part of structures for businesses or residences.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage the day to day operational activities of the assigned project.
• Supervise all production, cleaning, and subcontractor project crew activities.
• Maintain positive working relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and agencies to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance to legal requirements.
• Provide on-the-job direction and oversight to staff to ensure efficient and safe work practices.
• Communicate to staff and sub-contractors the specifications required for job completion and coordinate their efforts to complete projects within scheduled timeframes.
• Prepare a schedule of work progression to complete project within allowed timeframe.
• Implement job safety requirements per Company policy; prepare Jobsite Medical Plans and Safety Plan of Action for all required jobs.
• Obtain permits and inspections as required by local or State agencies, maintaining certificates in file or on job site for access and review.
• Perform on-site inspections to review job progress and safe work practices.
• Accurately and promptly complete job progress reports, daily logs, staff activity reports, etc.

Qualifications:

• Requires a minimum of five (5) years experience in a superintendent capacity in the construction industry.
• High School Education and some college preferred.
• Must be willing and able to travel extensively (up to 90%).
