Manager of Wireless Construction Services
Position - - Manager of Wireless Construction ServicesQualifications - - Experienced manager responsible for the design and construction of wireless communication facilities. Experience must include either national or regional build outs where the planning, budgeting, scheduling, staging, resourcing, designing, constructing, etc., encompassed multiple sites (in excess of 250) managed as a Program. Individual must be capable of establishing the program, organization, processes, cadre of subcontractors, schedules, logistics, resources, client interfaces, etc., to complete the rollout within budget and schedule and to quality requirements. A viable candidate must possess sufficient knowledge of and skill with the tools of the trade (e.g., scheduling software) necessary to support a major build out involving multiple sites.Interfaces - - This position will interface with key internal competencies (depending on the scope of services) and integrate into the overall strategy for providing turnkey services. Internal resources and capabilities include leasing; zoning; site acquisition; environmental assessments; architecture/engineering and construction oversight; site preparation; installation of radio basestation, microwave, and related equipment; and the testing/commission of all cell site equipment. These internal capabilities will need to be melded with external subcontracted resources in areas such as RF engineering and tower/site construction.Reporting - - This position will report to the Vice President in charge of the Telecom SectorDuties - -
Establish a national network of local and regional general and specialty construction contractors, logistic and warehouse providers,
Establish the model, tools and processes necessary to win, plan and implement a large regional or national build out,
Establish independent construction cost estimating capability,
Work with the contracting and procurement organization to establish standard master services agreements, pricing and work scopes for all subcontracting relationships,
Provide bid and proposal support, participate in client and sales meetings, develop and nurture client relationships, participate in sales and proposal presentations, etc.,
Provide and manage (as requested) the turnkey services for the Telecom Sector Business Units and their clients such as carriers, OEMs, government agencies, etc.,
Work with in-house construction and engineering organizations to develop their ability to support turnkey services on a cost competitive basis, and
Provide financial accountability to the business unit for services rendered.Location - - West or Southwest regions (depending on location of work)Travel requiredCompensation - - Salary is negotiable and full benefits and relocation package are availablePREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
4-year degree in construction-related field (or equivalent construction-related work experienceSKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Requires a comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry practices. Proven leadership and management capability is also required, as well as good written and oral communications skills.
