Manager, Environmental Design

Overview:

The Manager, Environmental Design is a member of the Image Design team. In this capacity he/she will lead a team responsible for ensuring consistent brand imaging of Cole Haan’s environments through the development and execution of Wholesale shop-in-shops, Tradeshows and Retail Stores.

Core Accountabilities:

•Work directly with the Environmental Design Director and Image Design team, including Visual Merchandising and Graphic Design teams, to successfully support and develop all of Cole Haan’s corporate and retail environments and ensure consistent and strong brand imaging and integrated messaging to the consumer and our customers.

•Responsible for the design processes in the development of Wholesale programs to ensure deliverables and timelines are met, programs are effective and collaboration between internal teams in successful in meeting corporate goals. Coordinate with design consultants in the development of Wholesale environments.

•Work in collaboration with the Wholesale Marketing and Sales teams to support the development and execution of Cole Haan Wholesale environments in support of brand image and sales initiatives.


•Work in collaboration with the Brand Marketing and Visual Merchandising teams to support the design, development and execution of Cole Haan trade show environments, which represent brand image and sales goals.

•Partner with the Director of Environments and the architectural consultant in the development and roll-out of Cole Haan Retail stores. Coordinate design of store renovation projects with Retail group and consultants.
•Support the Design Director of Environments in the development of all new programs.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Architecture or related field plus six or more years experience in store design or related field.

Exceptional retail interior design and communication skills as well as a strong understanding of retail environments.

Knowledge of the retail industry and the ability to seek and understand trends.

Strong oral, graphic and written presentation skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Must have consultative and collaborative approach and creative problem solving skills.

Experience and ability to navigate a matrix organizational structure.

Excellent attention to detail, follow-up and organizational skills.

Experience with CAD software such as Vectorworks or similar.

Travel required
