Manager, Development

Manage multi-family real estate development projects from initial project conception through final unit delivery. Success will be measured by how quickly and profitably the development manager is able to navigate and overcoming a constantly changing set of variables within an extraordinarily competitive market to deliver apartment communities that exceed market expectations in terms of project yield, product appearance, product durability, market desirability, cost and schedule. The successful candidate must be internally driven and motivated to achieve success for themselves with a passion to be the very best in the industry while also being willing to function as a critical component of the best development team in the apartment industry.

New project underwriting;
Product formulation;
Project due diligence;
Project entitlements;
Consultant management;
Manage and maintain relationship with internal customers within the operations organization;
Manage and maintain relationship with internal construction management organization;
Final project execution;
P&L responsibility;
Investment memoranda creation;
Market research;
Other duties as assigned.




Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides oversight and direction for all associates involved in development projects. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements
Master's degree (M.A.) preferred;
Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
Strong communication skills, both oral and written;
Strong organizational skills;
Must be detailed oriented, self-motivated and willing to take the initiative to get things done;
Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse work groups;
Ability to work independently;
Experience handling highly confidential information;
Ability to be flexible with multiple priorities and demands;
Willingness to constantly learn and question convention;
Understand when not to take no for an answer;
Have a strong work ethic and willingness to go anywhere to solve a specific problem;
