Manager, Application Development; Commercial Systems
In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of application projects to support global systems. Other responsibilities will include providing development and enhancement of applications within agreed to service levels, costs and timelines; developing an application management culture of global delivery of customer service, quality and continuous process improvement; making software quality a first order issue; and ensuring effective management of all application projects.

You will also encourage staff to become subject matter experts on Hospira Business, not just technology experts (This includes knowledge of the overall business processes, not just discrete applications, technologies or business tasks). Additionally, you will ensure Hospira IT’s SDLC, project management, software configuration management, and other application development processes are followed and encourage suggestions to improve the process.
REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in this position, you must possess:

Ability to manage and deliver projects by leading a team to estimate, design, build, and test applications
Ability to provide project related training to users, perform enhancements, and manage configuration for applications
Ability to actively engage the business in the SDLC process
Ability to foster software development skills (i.e. project management, requirements management, and testing skills within the Application Development staff)
A drive to continually improve, streamline and integrate quality processes into Hospira IT’s SDLC process
Ability to integrate design/delivery of projects with internal IT groups
Ability to synchronize with other Application Development groups to leverage solutions, where applicable, across business areas
