Maintenance Technician
Job Summary: Provides maintenance to Center buildings, furnishings, mechanical equipment, grounds and vehicles. Completes related work for special events and meetings [set-up, etc.]. Maintains related supplies and records. The maintenance technician works at all Wyandot Center locations and community sites.
Essential Job Functions: Performs manual tasks such as assisting staff in carrying machine parts, tools, and materials to and from various sites in and around Center facilities, the job, lifts and holds parts, equipment, tools, cleans up work areas, etc. NOTE: These essential functions are critical to effectively performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation. 1.Assists manger in the general maintenance and repair of Center buildings, furnishings, mechanical equipment, grounds and vehicles including painting, furniture moving, lighting and fixture replacement, plumbing repairs, HVAC service, general and seasonal grounds keeping, lock installation and repair, etc.
2.Maintains and stocks building, maintenance and related supplies including delivery and stocking of office supplies (e.g. copier paper, etc.) to all locations.
3.Performs routine weekly inspections of buildings, grounds, parking lots and related mechanics including but not limited to HVAC, lighting, electrical, facility restrooms, wall and ceiling conditions, roof, etc. Confers with manager and prioritizes and completes necessary maintenance work and repairs. Works with outside vendors and contractors, as directed.
4.Completes special event installations and preparations within the Center and outside community locations including meetings, training sessions, annual functions (e.g. health fair, annual meeting, special training sessions) etc.
5.Maintains records for mileage, repair schedules, work order requests and personal timesheets through manual/paper filing systems or computer tracking. Completes all related records in a timely and accurate manner.
6.Follows and complies with all local, state and federal regulations, laws and standards including all job-specific guidelines and codes (e.g. OSHA standards, hazardous material handling, etc.)
7.Responds immediately to unplanned and/or emergency situations, under the guidance of direct manager or management team member, within or outside the standard work schedule or circumstances.
8.Follows all Center policies, procedures and practices including those outlined in the Employee Handbook or other Center references and resources. Upholds and activity demonstrates the Center’s Mission, Vision and Values in all interactions.
9.Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
?Satisfactory work records, including attendance.
?Manual dexterity skills.
?Ability to safely lift, carry and/or move over 50 pounds; lifting will include above shoulder levels.
?Ability to climb ladders to 30 feet.
?Willingness to work day and afternoon shifts and regular overtime that may include weekend, evening or early morning hours.
?Ability to lift, push, pull and position items of substantial weight frequently -- may include assisting people.
?Ability to perform considerable reaching, stooping and bending and gripping.
?Hearing and vision abilities within normal range.
?Must be able to read packaging labels, directions, and related written materials required to safely utilize cleaning supplies and industrial maintenance equipment.
?High school diploma or equivalent.
?Minimum two years of related work experience (e.g. facilities technician or maintenance).
?Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate hand-held electrical powered and manual tools/equipment.
?Ability to safely use chemicals and related supplies.
?Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical and HVAC maintenance and repair.
?Demonstrated working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations and codes (e.g. application of OSHA standard to daily work).
?Effective time management and communication skills and the ability to readily adapt to changing priorities.
?Ability to recognize problems and choose solutions.
?Ability to follow and complete directions.
?Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of employees, outside contacts, vendors, contractors, etc.

Job-Specific Requirements and Working/Environmental Considerations:
Must have reliable transportation and maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of active automobile insurance for personal vehicle use for Center business.
This job presents the on-going possibility of safety risks. Frequently works with gloves and eye protection. Exposure to chemicals may occur during cleaning, maintenance or repair work.
This position is subject to exposure to all regional weather conditions and temperatures while working, travel between work locations, maintenance repair or emergency response/assistance, etc.
