REQUIREMENTS
- Journeyman -
Work will consist of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems conductors and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industry. Demonstrates knowledge of conduit bending and wire pulling. Performs routine tasks, installs all sizes of conduit with general supervision. Demonstrates basic knowledge of blueprint reading. Performs assigned tasks in a safe manner and demonstrates proper care of tools and equipment. Essential responsibilities include; Must work well with others, able to comprehend, read, and interpret blue prints and maps and schematics of same. Must be able to comprehend, read, and interpret instructional manuals specifications, work site directions and written instructions. Must be able to terminate junction boxes. Must be able to pull wire. Must be able to install conduit; Branch. Must be able to install conduit; Feeder. Must be able to do fixture connections and rough-ins. Must have working knowledge of NEC and posses current copy of NEC Handbook. Must be able to positively identify colors of wires. Must be able to bend conduit by hand with benders. Must be able to use all power tools, saws threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches. Must be capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment. Must practice and comprehend safe work procedures as outlined in Employee Handbooks and safety policies and procedures and Hazcom policy. Must be able to operate two (2) handed tools-equipment (i.e. cable cutter hammer drills compression tools, jack hammers). Must be able to operate and work with mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas powered). Must be able to operate equipment in a safe manner. Maintain the Company Mission Statement. Qualifications; High school diploma, or GED, or equivalent training, and/or ability to work at the specified level. 4-5 years of previous electrical experience or minimum of 8,000 hours previous experience. Must possess a City of Reno Journeyman's Card and a California Journeyman's Card. Must have own transportation. Working conditions; able to work inside and outside; all elements; in all types of weather conditions.

- Apprentices -
Must be able to assist electricians by performing tasks under the direct supervision of an electrician actually installing the work and handling the bulk of materials. Essential responsibilities include; Must be able to keep all materials, tools, and equipment in an orderly fashion and the work area clean at all times Must be able to demonstrate safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment. Must be able to read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, work site directions and written instructions. Must have minimum requirement of tools (according to handbook) and tool pouch. Must have knowledge in materials handling and organizing. Must keep work area clean. Must be able to assist other field personnel as directed. Must be able to understand safety requirements. Must be able to positively identify colors of wires. Must be capable of working with all power tools, saws threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders and knockout punches. Must be capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment. Must practice and comprehend safe work procedures as outline in Employee Handbooks and safety policies and procedures and Hazcom policy. Must be able to operate two (2) handed tools-equipment i.e. cable cutter hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers). Must be able to operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmission in accordance with vehicle policy. Must be able to operate and work with mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas powered). Attend company meetings as required. Maintain the Company Mission Statement. Qualifications; High school diploma, or GED, or equivalent training, and/or ability to work at the specified level. No previous electrical experience required. Must be able to work well with others in a team environment. Must have own transportation. Working conditions; able to work inside and outside; all elements; in all types of weather conditions.
