HSE Technical Consultant

You will provide HSE expertise to various project personnel responsible for developing technical training materials used in the process industry. These training materials include operator-training manuals, operating and maintenance procedures, and other process related training documentation. You may also be involved directly with external clients in the various development stages of a project.

You will function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and will assist developers with the following:
•Advise and coach project personnel with respect to how HSE plays a roll in training material development for operations and maintenance personnel in the process industry.
•Edit training materials developed by various project personnel in the area of HSE.
•Assist with the development of enhanced training materials that include process safety management, OSHA regulations and MOC.


Flexible work schedule with minimal travel as most clients are in the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast.
REQUIREMENTS
WORK EXPERIENCE
•Five or more years experience in manufacturing and preferably in the hydrocarbon processing industry as a safety engineer
•At least five years experience providing general safety consulting services including safety program reviews
•Three years experience instructing employees in matters pertaining to occupational safety and accident prevention
•Three years experience preparing reports including analysis and recommendations for control and correction of hazards

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
•Familiarity with hydrocarbon processing operations and process equipment
•A solid understanding of OSHA regulations, PSM, HAZMAT and MOC
•Strong writing and editing skills
•Intermediate user of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Windows

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering or related field.
Occupational Health & Safety Technologist (CCHEST) preferred
