Inspects facilities and field operations within geographic area of responsibility to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory laws. Conducts safety and/or environmental audits within geographic area of responsibility to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory laws. Conducts orientations to implement and promote safety and/or environmental policies and procedures. Special emphasis is given to on site Short Service Employees oversight and performance. Assist, as qualified, in the delivery of HS&E specific training (e.g., First Aid Training, Fire Extinguisher, Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Hand Tool Safety, Power Tool Safety, Wire Line Safety, etc.) Assists in the development of company training programs including the identification of qualified outside training providers. Visits work sites to implement and promote safety and/or environmental policies and procedures. Distributes literature to implement and promote safety and/or environmental policies and procedures. Participates in or leads District/Location Safety Meetings. Assists local management in arrangements for third party presentations (e.g., law enforcement, company physicians, wire line companies, etc.) May analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports and regulatory documents. May develop Baker Atlas Level 3 documents based on regulations, consensus standards, and/or client requirements. May present information and respond to questions or concerns from employees, managers, clients and the general public. May respond to all inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies and/or community groups. May supervise lower level specialists. Travel Required: Up to 30%.Posted: 9/14/2006

REQUIREMENTS
Thorough understanding of regulations and the regulatory process. Excellent analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good presentation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management. Knowledgeable of drilling rig and wire line operations Good interpersonal skills. Takes the initiative in anticipating, identifying, and responding to the needs of field personnel and management. Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word/Excel/Power Point. Able to research and interpret regulations and consensus standards relating to specific company issues. Accident/Incident investigation skills. Certification as Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Registered Environmental Manager, or other recognized HS&E professional recognition. Degree in physical science, engineering, industrial safety, industrial hygiene, environmental management or 10 years’ experience as an HS&E professional. Proficient in monitoring and sampling methodologies used in HS&E applications.
