GRAVEL / SAND / AGGREGATE OPERATION SUPERVISOR

SGC is seeking a site supervisors for its Louisiana and Mississippi area operations. Position will be directly responsible for the day to day operations of a sand and gravel mining operations that servers the southern Mississippi and Louisiana markets. Quality control, preventative maintenance, equipment repair, capital upgrade, direct employee supervision, customer interaction, safety training, employee recruitment, on-the-job training and interaction with management are required. Both cutterhead dredging and dry mining methods are employed. An aggregate background and supervisory experience are required. The operations runs 5 / 12 hour shift and additional weekend shifts as the market demand.

Standard Gravel Company is a family owned company that has been serving the Southern Louisiana / Mississippi markets for over 80 years. SGC is a well respected aggregates producers by both its customers and competitors. The company is active nationally in the NSSGA and other industry groups. Employee training and continuous process improvement is a priority with the company.

SGC anticipates great market growth and expansion as the rebuilding from Hurricane Katrina's destruction begins in late 2006.
REQUIREMENTS
Direct employee supervision of up to 15 employees.
Knowledge of common aggregate equipment and mining methods.
Experience in a cutterhead dredging operation is extremely desireable.
Knowledge of wheel loaders, dozers, dredge, hydraulic excavators, and off-road trucks.
Strong mechanical inclination.

Plant includes water pumps, slurry pumps, dredges, vibratory screens, static screens, sand screws, conveyors, radial stackers, coarse material washers, log washers, scales, settling basins, vibratory feeders, and other common processing equipment.

Salary is negotiable, 401K, medical insurance, company vehicle are included. Other benefits may be available.
