Field Supervisor
Purpose: JOB TITLE: Irrigation, Lighting and Water Feature Field Supervisor

POSITION REPORTS TO: Irrigation Division Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Irrigation Installation Foremen, Leads and Technicians
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for complete supervision of the personnel and processes involved in installation of residential and commercial irrigation systems, landscape lighting systems and water features.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Professionally represent our company, providing necessary communication and coordination with crewmembers, supervisors, customers and representatives of other departments or trades. Serve as an effective salesperson when selling opportunities present themselves, and when called on to assist or back up the Irrigation Sales Manager.
2.Supervise and train personnel as necessary in the installation of irrigation systems, lighting systems and water features, in accordance with provided plans and specifications, company procedures, quality standards, local codes, industry standards and safety requirements. Help to insure efficiency, productivity and profitability by establishing high levels of respect and accountability among staff members.
3.Demonstrate a thorough understanding and practical working knowledge of design principals, industry standards, materials and proper installation methods for irrigation, landscape lighting and water features. Develop and maintain current technical expertise in established methods and materials. Use available resources to explore new methods and materials.
4.Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment as necessary and as directed, in a safe and productive manner. Promote the same from staff members.
5.Demonstrate reliability and accountability on a consistent basis, including: attendance, thoroughness, quality control, customer service, maintenance and care of tools and equipment, innovation and self sufficiency. Lead through example and achieve consistent reliability and accountability from staff members. Encourage and assist professional growth and development of staff members.
6.Perform personnel and staffing functions as necessary, including hiring, employee orientation, conducting performance and salary reviews, training, and the administration of standard disciplinary procedures.
7.Prepare and submit documentation as directed, including items required for specific projects as well as items that may be related to sales, marketing, planning, purchasing, budgeting, personnel, accounting or other miscellaneous assignments.
8.Schedule and route crews in the most efficient and productive manner, and use available systems (including GPS tracking) to achieve consistent staff accountability and performance.
9.Supervise and manage irrigation, lighting and water feature installation projects in a productive and efficient manner, achieving profitability that meets or exceeds budgeted values.
10.Follow all Company and departmental policies and procedures, and promote consistent compliance to those same policies and procedures by staff members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1.At least five years of professional experience, college level training, or a combination of the two.
2.Ability to meet the communication requirements of the position, including verbal and written English as necessary in a professional business environment.
3.Basic math skills as necessary for proper irrigation and lighting estimating, contract administration and installation documentation.
4.Working knowledge of personal computer technology, with the ability to efficiently utilize common software programs including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
5.Experience in the safe, proper and efficient operation of trucks, vans, sod cutters, trenchers and miscellaneous hand tools used in irrigation and lighting installation.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
1.Valid drivers license, with verifiable driving record that is acceptable and in accordance with standards set forth by Company insurance regulations.
2.Current First Aid and CPR Certification as provided by the American Red Cross and as recognized by the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.Classification:Direct HireCompensation:
