Field Safety Engineer

This role is involved with managing safety at the jobsite. This individual will ensure that both company/client safety rules and government safety requirements are enforced on the job and that all employees and subcontractors are properly trained and equipped to do their job safely. In addition this position assists in maintaining a jobsite that complies with local and federal Environmental requirements.
· Correspond with Client to ensure they keep updated on safety
activites

·Maintain compliance with SPX Cooling Technologies Safety & Environmental Policies

· Maintain compliance with State and Federal Safety regulations

· Ensure that our jobsite complies with Client required Safety
& Environmental Policies

· Ensures that pre-employment Safety Training is completed for each employee.
· Creates and maintains employee Safety Training files
· Conducts or oversees the daily inspections.
· Ensures daily and monthly equipment inspections are completed and documented.
· Completes daily Job Safety Analysis meetings.
· Investigates, reports, and follows up on all work related injuries and accidents
· Distributes and maintains Personal Protective Equipment to ensure that every employee has the protection that they need and that it is maintained in a safe condition.
· Trained in First Aid and must administer first aid to injured employees
· Ensure that chemical hazards are well controlled and the Material Safety Data Sheets are maintained and employees have been trained on safe use of these chemicals.
· Determine Safe Lockout Procedures and ensure that they are strictly enforced.
· Enforce 100% fall protection as required.

REQUIREMENTS
High School Graduate
Construction Safety Experience
Computer Skills
30 Hour OSHA Certified
Climbing stairs/ladders on frequent basis
Sitting/Standing/and walking
Occasional lifting, bending, stooping
Keyboarding/typing
Ability to read effectively
Ability to handle a large volume of work
Occasional long hours and infrequent days off
Effective verbal communication skills
Occasionally works in Job Trailer which is often congested
Often works outdoors in adverse conditions, i.e. extreme, hot, cold, bad weather.
Often works at height
