Estimator - excavation/underground utilities

General contractor is seeking an Estimator with experience in mass excavation / underground utilities.

Projects range from $1MM to $5MM in size.

Estimator's responsibilities include estimation of underground utility/mass excavation projects. In this role, you will be responsible for material takeoffs, negotiating costs with clients - negotiating bidding - soliciting bids - awarding and buyout of subcontracts - pricing and verifying proposed changes - subcontractor change orders - monthly subcontractor billings - complete estimation of project from the schematic phase through contract documents.

This is a longterm position with growth potential.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:

Undergraduate college degree in construction related discipline preferred but longevity in the construction industry can substitute for a college degree.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of ten years experience in the construction trade. Candidate must have prior experience estimating mass excavation / underground utility projects.

SKILLS:

Successful Estimator candidate must have strong computer skills. Must be able to communicate ideas and give specific direction to rest of team. Estimator must have ability to troubleshoot problems with ability to spot potential deficiencies or problems before they become major issues.

Estimator candidate must have a stable work record.
