As a Director of Construction, you will be expected to perform the following functions:
Recruit, supervise and train field construction associates
Coordinate management training with Area Managers to insure associate morale and customer satisfaction
Responsible for starts, permitting, closings and walk-thru completed prior to closing
Implement policy, procedures and strategies to improve our product, community relations, government relations, trade and associate relations
Oversee subcontractor relationships
Review and approve budgets and all purchase orders for construction costs and field expenses over certain amounts
Assist in Customer Care complaint resolutions
Serve as safety officer
Review and approve field bonuses

REQUIREMENTS
Requirements for the Director of Construction
Five to ten years construction management experience
Valid driver's license and the ability to drive a motor vehicle
Experience with Word, Excel, BuildPro and the internet required
Diplomatic professional with excellent communication (written and verbal)skills able to effectively work with all staff levels and business partners
Must be a problem solver with the ability to supervise effectively
Good knowledge of construction practices and techniques
Requires the ability to work in excess of eight hours per day
Requires the ability to read plans
Ability to do extensive walking, climbing, stooping, and standing
Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Must be able to occassionally operate construction equipment
Ability to handle office paperwork, operate keyboard, calculator, and telephones
