Director, Commercial Development

Working closely with the Director, Retail Properties, the Director, Income Properties, and the VP, Real Estate, the Director, Commercial Development is responsible for the timely and cost effective execution of the company's commercial development strategy from project concept through design, construction, lease-up, stabilization and the ultimate disposition or transfer to Income Properties.

Directing the activities of team members and consultants, the position is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, control (or coordination of specific functions) and execution of the company's development of commercial income properties including due diligence process, design and product mix, budgeting, pro-forma preparation and review, preparation of plans and execution through to completion. These responsibilities include:

-Developing, refining and securing management approval of project concepts, designs, pro-formas, timelines, and budgets for each property targeted for commercial development;
-Overseeing the preparation, submittal and approval of plans through the governmental approval process;
-Supervising the timely and cost effective bidding and construction process;
-Team participation and support of the leasing and marketing activities.
REQUIREMENTS
-Project planning, processing and timeline management;
-Project pro-forma preparation, analysis and approval;
-Project budgeting, variance reporting and cost control;
-Project resource allocation (company and consultant manpower);
-Project control and adherence to company policies and procedures;
-Supervision of company personnel and outside consultants;
-Coordination of project and team activities with all company stakeholder;
-Preparation of reports; internal and external presentations, as required
