Design Architect

We are currently working with design/build construction management company. This company is almost 100 years old, and has evolved into a full range professional construction services organization that specializes in the design and construction of a very specific industry. The parent company has a subsidiary company, and this employee will be employed under the umbrella of this subsidiary company and report to the VP of Construction. There are approximately 60 employees in this company. Benefits will include medical/dental/vision that is company paid for the employee and partially company paid for a dependent, will go into affect the first full month after the date of hire. A 401K plan will go into affect immediately. The company offers paid life insurance and LTD/STD.

As a Design Architect, you will be responsible for:Creating preliminary designs of floor plans, site plans, and elevations.Preparation of scale drawings and contract documents.Researching/planning/designing and administering building projects for clients by applying the knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials.Determining functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation and for preparing information regarding design, specifications, materials, color and equipment.Planning the layout of projects and integrating engineering elements into a unified design.Will review and approve submittals, coordinate reviews of engineering submittals, and direct activities of CADD Operators in preparing project designs and plans.

This position will require significant interaction with sales and construction teams. Minimal travel to job sites will be required in various states with periodic overnight stay.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree from approved school of architecture.5 to 7 years of experience in an architectural environment with experience in working with construction documents.Active license and registration in PA is a plus. NCARB is ideal.Working knowledge of CADD software required.Must possess the ability to work closely with others to ensure that accurate drawings are completed within established deadlines.Ability to work in and enjoy a fast paced environment is essential.Ability to travel minimally and stay overnight periodically.
