The University of Connecticut's Office of Procurement & Logistical Services is seeking applications for the position of Director, Construction Procurement & Contract Administration.
The successful candidate will supervise and provide leadership, guidance and technical expertise in the development of RFP's, bid documents, policies, procedures and standards for construction procurement and contract administration; coordinate and execute large, multi-project responsibilities for the purchase of construction materials, services and subcontracts from qualified vendors and contractors in accordance with contract documents. Candidates must have an advanced university degree, preferably in business or public administration, architecture, engineering, law or accounting and at least ten years of progressively
responsible professional purchasing experience and award and administration of professional and construction
services including project management, general and sub-contractors, design professionals and related construction service and commodities purchasing. (A Bachelor's degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and six to seven years experience in construction procurement may be accepted in lieu of an
advanced university degree). Strong background and knowledge of construction contracting, estimating, construction scheduling, and construction methods, statues, code and regulations required.
