DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION SENIOR PROJECT ASSOCIATE (2) SUNY Downstate Medical Center is seeking a Sr. Project Associate. This position will report to the AVP for Design and Construction and will be responsible to ensure that schedules as well as project quality and safety are achieved. He/she will insure that codes/regulations are followed; develop Risk Assessment reports prior to project construction; provide daily coordination of all aspects of design and construction with architectural and electromechanical consultants and internal clients to ensure minimal disruption to campus activities, staff, patients, visitors and educators; perform inspections during construction projects; attend meetings and prepare periodic progress reports. Knowledge of Autocad and computer required. Must develop knowledge of Infection Control Guidelines and Interim Life Safety Measures. Capable of preparing architectural and electro-mechanical information and concept sketches with cost estimates and time-line schedules. Must be available to provide supervision during evening, night and weekend construction. B.S. in Architecture or Engineering with 5 to 10 years experience in construction management, preferably in a hospital environment. Strong administrative leadership skills.
