Crystal Grower Operator Trainee

Bay Area Silicon Wafer Manufacturer has an immediate hire for a Crystal Grower Operator-Trainee to staff for a new factory startup!
Position Summary:The Crystal Grower Operator Trainee operates the CZ furnaces and supports the set up changes to optimize furnace productivity. You will also be responsible for the safe operation of the machine, resulting quality of product and for documenting the production process.Position Responsibilities includes but are not limited to the following:
•Operates the CZ furnace and it’s subsystems
•Assists other CZ growers as needed to optimize furnace performance.
•Evaluates HZ during furnace change-overs, inputs WCL on parts changes.
•Evaluates furnace subsystems for correct operating condition prior to productions.
•Monitors furnace subsystem for safe operating conditions during production.
•Charges and sets up furnaces as needed.
•Executes start up checklists during set up changes and crystal extractions.
•Operates CZ growing machines for testing and for production as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
•High School Graduate or GED (college experience a plus).
•Mechanical ability needed.
•Some thermal knowledge a plus.
•Must read and speak English to understand and teach the manufacturing technology.
•Must be able to wear protective gloves and safety glasses & hearing protection while on the job.
•Repetitive lifting required.
•Position requires standing for long periods of time.•Must be willing to work night shifts and weekends.
•Good eye for detail
•Persistence and tenacity a plus
•Comfortable with computersAdditional Requirements:
This position will support the ongoing R&D furnace operations when the main operations staff relocates to Portland. Candidates must show the potential to quickly learn the CZ procedures, and be capable of working with engineering in supporting various testing scenarios.
