Construction Superintendents

Purpose: Company Background: Our client works with heavy civil and mechanical projects. Work is within environmental scope and disciplines. They work with both public and private sector. Fifty to Seventy-five percent of work is with Railroad and utilities.

Example of typical projects:

Roadways (private developers); park construction (pipeline, utilities, buildings, landscape); fueling and maintenance facilities (mechanical systems, structural concrete, reinforced steel); locomotive inspection pits; above/below ground containing systems (fuel piping, leach systems, secondary liners)

Currently about 40 people in the company (7 full time office professional, others craft and field)

Job Description:

As a superintendent, you will oversee all of the field operations for our civil and heavy construction projects. This will include responsibilities of assisting with project scheduling, coordination of subcontractors, supervising foremen and job crews, completing necessary reports, RFIs and change orders, overseeing plans and blueprints to make sure construction is meeting specifications (QA/QC), and overseeing day to day project safety.

We seek an individual with a high level of motivation and the ability to work with initiative and with limited supervision. Position requires strong written/oral communication skills, good organizational skills and computer literacy. Good interpersonal and client/customer focus skills are a must.

Qualifications:
-5+ years experience as a superintendent working with civil infrastructure and construction projects
-Computer literate; experienced with MS Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with MS Project is a plus.
-Demonstrated ability to work successfully with clients and contractors
-Self-motivated and aggressive
-Supportive and team oriented
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Flexibility
-Ability to travel

Additional Information:

-Per diem and living allowances as warranted by project.
-Typical travel is 40-65%
-Typical schedule is out 10 days back for 4
-Will be provided company vehicle
