Construction Observer

Shafer, Kline & Warren, (SKW) is a multi-discipline civil engineering,and land surveying firm with offices in Kansas and Missouri. We design communities--and all of the infrastructure elements that tie a community together--including residential and commercial sites, streets, highways, bridges, and structures, electrical and gas utilities, and storm water and wastewater systems. Our 200 employees work together to provide services that are uniquely comprehensive for the consulting industry.

We are seeking a Construction Observer for the Construction Observation department in our Overland Park office. Duties include construction quality control, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications, contract administration, construction management, plan review, and constructability opinions.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements
High School graduate with coursework in advanced mathematics and science, and two years of experience in land surveying, engineering, construction or materials testing.
Candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate with government entities, property owners, contractors, utilities, and the general public. Analytical skills and decision-making skills are also required.

KDOT AI, BI, S & CI Certification or NICET Level 2 Certification is highly desired.
