Construction Equipment Manufacturin g Engineer Volvo Construction Equipment in Ashe- ville, NC has an imme- diate opportunity for a Manufacturing Engi- neer supporting the Asheville Plant man- ufacturing process. The successful candi- date will manage all aspects of new and existing projects in- cluding cost justifica- tion, capital expendi- tures, vendor selec- tion, manufacturing processes, assembly layout and throughput improvement, and evaluation of materi- als. Key functions in- clude determining best assembly manufactur- ing sequences, focus- ing on quality, safety and cost along with working with design engineering and Volvo Quality to define and ensure quality specifi- cations are met in the assembly process. Further, the success- ful candidate will work with in-plant teams to achieve continuous im- provement utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools in all manufacturing areas. Required Qualifica- tions: Minimum of BS in Manufacturing, In- dustrial Engineering or related Technology degree. Mechanical and Electrical Engi- neering will also be considered. 3 - 5 years experience including process analysis, lay- out, tooling, labor standards devel- opment and project work. Solid Edge and Auto Cad would be an added plus. PC experi- ence including Mi- crosoft Office products and ERP systems ex- perience required. Lean/Sigma Black Belt-level certification preferred along with understanding of ISO requirements Experience in automo- tive, truck or heavy equipment industry preferred.
