Construction - Assistant Project Manager

Petra Construction Corp. is a mid-sized general contracting / construction management firm seeking Assistant Project Managers to work on commercial construction project management teams. Responsibilities include assisting with:-Issuance and tracking of project documents
-Processing subcontracts and purchase orders
-Attending and recording project meetings
-Preparation of change orders
-Managing subcontractors, material suppliers and project superintendents or foreman
-Reviewing daily reports
-Reviewing job cost forecasting reports
-Reviewing subcontractor requisitions
-The attainment of substantial and final completion.
Assistant Project Managers are expected to work a minimum of nine hours a day from a selected flex-start time of 6:30, 7:00 or 7:30 a.m. The position is salary-exempt.The position is office based in North Haven. REQUIREMENTS
Include:
-Familiarity with various project delivery methods
-Basic understanding of contracts, plans and specifications, construction methods, materials and regulations
-Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
-Knowledge of scheduling software
-Knowledge of project manangement software-Strong written and oral communication skills
-Strong interpersonal skills
-Positive attitude
-Ability to follow specific instructions and a willingness to learn
-Professional demeanorA construction management or related degree will be considered a plus.
