Construction Administration Coordinator

Purpose: Job Description: A nationally recognized Engineering firm currently has an exceptional opportunity for a Construction Administration Coordinator in their Los Angeles Office. This position is responsible for development, coordination, and management of responses and submittals for Shop Drawings and RFI's during the Construction Administration phase of a project.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES:
1. Review shop drawing submittals and develop responses or coordinate responses with project engineers.
2. Prepare and/or coordinate responses to contractors' request for information.
3. Ensure compliance of shop drawings with design specifications and drawings.
4. Follow-up with project manager or engineer on shop drawings and RFI's. 5. Ensure compliance with response time for RFI's and submittals.
6. Maintain electronic or hardcopy database of shop drawings and RFI log, log incoming and outgoing shop drawings and RFI's.
7. Deliver shop drawings with design documentation.

END RESULTS:
1. Accurate, timely receipt and transmittal of submittals and RFI's. 2. Timely follow up.
3. Revised and improved specifications based on feedback during construction administration phase.
4. Effective tools and processes for Construction Administration phase.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of MEP building systems.
2. Knowledge of construction process.
3. Computer literate.
4. Organized.
5. Able to prioritize.
6. Microsoft Access.
7. Basic Microsoft Word.
8. Basic Microsoft Excel.
9. Microsoft Outlook.
10. Detail oriented.
11. Service-oriented attitude.
12. Professional.
13. Able to move heavy objects (i.e. rolls of drawings).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Three years of experience in construction management and/or engineering of commercial buildings.
2. One year of experience with writing and/or reviewing specifications.

DESIRED:
1. One year of design and/or construction of MEP systems.
2. Timberline experience.
3. Healthcare project-related experience.

Classification:
Direct Hire

Compensation:
$50,000 - $55,000 Year
