Commissioning Group Leader

Affiliated Engineers SE, Inc., a full service mechanical, electrical and piping consulting engineering firm, specializes in planning, designing and commissioning buildings, systems, plants and processes is seeking an individual to lead our commissioning market segment in our Florida offices.

Commissioning Market Segment Leader

Summary of Responsibilities:
•Establishes and maintains direction for the commissioning market segment in the Gainesville office and coordinating activities with peers within our national practice.
•Coordinates work efforts with marketing business development leader, department facilitators and project engineers.
•Establishes and maintains client relations through project management and production efforts.
•Leads the effort required to generate organizational and technical documentation for commissioning projects.
•The Cx market segment leader is able to provide strong technical leadership to the supporting discipline engineers and project.
•Must be able to identify technical and logistical needs of a project and then identify resources within and without the company to satisfy these needs
•Responsibilities in assigning resources and mentoring and training Commissioning staff.
REQUIREMENTS
Required skills, abilities and experience:
•8-15 years of experience in the building construction industry contributing in increasingly demanding capacities.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a diverse audience including architects, engineers, facilities management personnel, general contractors, subcontractors and construction managers
•Strong technical background in the systems integration, mechanical and/or electrical discipline
•Building automation system troubleshooting capabilities and/or significant exposure to the test adjust balance process
•Strong project management skills including experience managing multiple responsibilities including marketing, project management and production
•Familiarity with the commissioning process as currently practiced in the building construction industry
•Experience with the LEED commissioning requirements and the “green” construction approach
•Ability to travel in order to meet project needs
•High level of motivation and the ability to be self-directed
•A positive approach to problem solving utilizing all available resources


Required and preferred education and credentials:
`
•BSME, BSEE or equivalent (Significant project experience may be considered in place of formal degree.)
•Professional credentials such as professional engineer (P.E.) license, LEED AP, etc. (or the ability to pursue and secure within reasonable time-frame)
