CONSTRUCTION SITE SUPERVISOR

Company Background
Smithfield Architects & Builders, a design/build firm located on Chicago’s Northshore, is seeking a Site Supervisor. Our work is focused on high-end residential additions, kitchens, and comprehensive renovations. In addition, we complete two to three new homes each year. The office is small (about 15 individuals) with a team environment. Each project is assigned an Architect, Project Manager, and Site Supervisor. We treat our clients and employees extremely well. We emphasize ongoing training and certification, with plenty of room to grow professionally.

Position: Site Supervisor
The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production for 5-7 projects. This individual runs the actual field operations of a job, working together with a Project Manager, or PM, who handles the inside aspects of the job (purchasing, selections, CO’s, design issues, etc.).

Responsibilities include:
-personally monitor production of assigned jobs
-formulate a job schedule
-keep the job on or ahead of schedule
-coordinate/orchestrate subs (the PM typically purchases and contracts with the subs)
-monitor and maintain quality of all work
-troubleshoot installation/other problems as they arise
-meet at least weekly with PM’s to review status of jobs
-keep in direct communciation with client (forward relevant issues to the PM)
-work together with the PM to meet or exceed GPM goal
-ensure client satisfaction from the perspective of the actual work and job site
-periodically meet with sales staff to review upcoming jobs and estimates
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements for this position include:
-5+ yrs experience in high end residential field operations
-excellent knowledge of all phases of residential construction
-ability to organize and inspire subs to exceptional performance
-ability to formulate a plan (schedule) and work with a team toward a successful result
-sharp eye for quality and fit & finish
-personable and ability to inspire confidence in clients
-flexible and helpful attitude (this is a fast-growing company with a lot of changes)
