Creative Director

Captivate’s network is seen in a distraction-free viewing environment, on wireless, digital screens in the elevators of premier office towers across North America. RESPONSIBILITIES
•Direct the day-to-day operation of the studio resources
•Liaise with designers, management, clients, and outside client production
•Review departmental workflow, time tracking, equipment and staffing needs to ensure deadlines and budget requirements are met
•Identify and implement department policies and initiatives to streamline internal processes and insure the quality of all work produced
•Serve as a point of contact for inter-office projects (eg. Corporate branding standards, retrieval of marketing files, hardware/software rollouts with Engineering dept, etc.)
•Report to upper-management on ad status, workflow, current projects in the Studios as well as appropriate time tracking (ad time metrics)
•Offer creative direction and advise on copy and visuals to produce effective ads that are visually compelling and meet client objectives
•Serve as Advertising Project Manager on key accounts and as a resource to implement minor design changes to ads
•Oversee research and implementation of new software and technologies to the Studio
•Oversee Sales graphic resources, working to streamline access to our inventory by our sales team and ensure that the latest and greatest materials are available
•Assist Marketing in the design and execution of promotional collateral

MISCELLANEOUS MANAGERIAL DUTIES
•In collaboration with the VP of Marketing, build annual budgets and business plan, define metrics and measure his/her team’s performance against those metrics
•Hire, induct, and train new staff members as needed
•Prepare and deliver employee performance reviews
•Mentor & train staff on company and departmental standards and processes, etc.
•Other tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS
Typically the applicant has 5 or more years experience and a degree in fine arts or computer graphics background. The
successful candidate must also have:
•Strong organizational, multi-tasking, interpersonal and communication skills
•Previous supervisory skills as well as excellent design, strategic and conceptual skills
•Solid process and people management skills, a dedicated teacher/mentor
•Ability to develop, implement, and maintain standards.
•Organized with a strong attention to detail
•Demonstrate ability as both a self-managed planner and a hands-on achiever
•Multi-tasking and problem solving skills to effectively manage projects with strained and similar deadlines
•Usually requires a degree plus 5-8 years relevant experience, or equivalent
•Previous agency or media company experience strongly preferred

Technical skills:
•Understand Captivate production specifications
•Working knowledge of graphics software
•Strong understanding of design principles and the production process
